The Yangwang U8 costs AED 659,900 in the UAE, with VAT, as the Arabian Edition. Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility is the only seller, with showrooms in Dubai Festival City, on Sheikh Zayed Road and at Umm Al Nar in Abu Dhabi. The U8 is a range extender: four electric motors drive the wheels, and a 2.0-liter petrol engine only charges the 49 kWh battery. It goes 112 km on battery alone and 800 km in all on the WLTC test, and Al-Futtaim gives 6 years or 150,000 km on the car and 8 years on the battery. Used U8s were listed at a median of AED 540,000 in November 2026, 18% under the new price. Two names cause mix-ups: Al-Futtaim labels the car a “PHEV”, and China also sells a longer U8L that the UAE seller does not list. Yangwang’s other cars, the U9 supercar and the Altior sedan, have no UAE price yet.
PlaidCars is not affiliated with Yangwang, BYD or Al-Futtaim and takes no commission from them. Sources are listed at the end.

The U8 drives on electric motors, and its petrol engine only charges the battery
Al-Futtaim’s spec sheet calls the U8 a “PHEV”. Its own site explains the setup more exactly: the petrol engine is a generator that charges the battery and does not drive the wheels. That makes it a range extender. You plug it in like an electric car, and you fill it with petrol for long trips.
| Spec | U8 (Al-Futtaim spec sheet) |
|---|---|

| Cargo space | 1,031 liters, 2,050 with the rear seats folded |
WLTC is the drive cycle of the WLTP test, the same test behind Tesla’s UAE range figures, so the 112 km and 800 km compare directly with a Tesla’s. Chinese sites quote higher numbers for the U8, 180 km and 1,000 km, because they use China’s CLTC test. On a daily commute well under 100 km, by our read, most owners would rarely start the engine if they charge at home each night.
Tesla Superchargers stay closed to the U8, so it charges at home or on public chargers
Tesla keeps every UAE Supercharger for Teslas. Al-Futtaim’s spec sheet does not name the U8’s charging plug, so ask the showroom which plug it has and check it against the public chargers you plan to use (every EV charger in the UAE). With a small 49 kWh battery, most owners will charge at home on the 11 kW box that comes with the car.
The U8 wades through 1 meter of water and turns on the spot
Each wheel has its own motor, so the U8 can turn on the spot, which Yangwang calls Vehicle Origin Turn. Al-Futtaim lists a wading depth of 1,000 mm, up to 310 mm of ground clearance, 150 mm of height adjustment, and locking front and rear differentials. Yangwang also claims a float mode: in deep water the car lifts itself, seals the cabin and moves at up to 3 km/h for up to 30 minutes. Treat that as a last resort in a flood, as the maker presents it. Dubai Police added a U8 to its tourist patrol fleet in October 2026, with Al-Futtaim.
Al-Futtaim covers the car for 6 years and the battery for 8, with no km limit on the battery
The spec sheet lists a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year battery warranty with unlimited kilometers. That sheet is dated June 2025, so get the warranty terms on your invoice. Al-Futtaim’s location list names one site for service, Umm Al Nar in Abu Dhabi; ask where a Dubai car goes for service before you buy.
Used U8s ask a median AED 540,000, 18% under the new price
A third-party price tracker counted 13 used U8s for sale in the UAE in November 2026. The median asking price was AED 540,000, the lowest AED 410,000 and the highest AED 650,000. That is AED 119,900 under the new price. These are asking prices, and a sale price can be lower.
The same tracker shows the asks in two groups, around AED 500,000 and around AED 560,000, and its typical U8 price rose from AED 419,000 in August 2026 to AED 540,000 in November 2026. Prices are moving fast, so compare the year and trim, and check whether the car came through Al-Futtaim or as a private import without its warranty.
Our own price data covers fully electric cars only, so it has no U8 prices and no resale curve. By our read, the first owners of a new brand in the UAE carry the resale risk, and a car at this price loses more in dirhams than a cheaper one at the same rate.
A used Tesla Model X is the nearest Tesla, and it costs far less
Tesla no longer sells the Model S and Model X new in the UAE. The typical used Model X asks AED 99,900 · median asking · as of Nov 6, 2026 today (Tesla prices in the UAE). The two cars serve different buyers:
- Model X: fully electric, with access to Tesla’s Supercharger network and used prices we track every day.
- U8: bigger and built for sand and water, with a petrol engine for long desert trips, 1,180 hp, and a new-car warranty from Al-Futtaim. No Supercharger access and no resale record yet.
The U9 has no UAE price yet, and its Xtreme version set a 503 km/h record in Abu Dhabi
The U9 is Yangwang’s electric supercar. Al-Futtaim’s UAE site does not list it and shows no price, so any U9 for sale here today is a private import without Al-Futtaim’s warranty.
The U9 Xtreme is a faster version, with about 3,000 hp from four motors and a 1,200-volt system, and Yangwang says it will build no more than 30. In November 2026, German racing driver Marc Basseng drove one to 503.17 km/h on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road (E11) in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra Region, where local authorities closed a 10 km section of road for the runs. The FIA recognized the speed, and the car took two Guinness World Records for the fastest production car and electric production car in a one-way run. Its previous record was 496.22 km/h, set in Germany in September 2025.
Yangwang chose the UAE to unveil its Altior sedan, which has no UAE price yet
Yangwang named a large luxury sedan, the Altior, in October 2026 and chose the UAE for its unveiling. It has no UAE price or sales date yet. We will add both here once Yangwang UAE publishes them.
Our read: buy a U8 new for the desert, or used to skip the first drop
I would buy a U8 if I spent weekends in the dunes or wadis and wanted electric drive in town: 1 meter of wading depth and 800 km of range suit long desert trips. I would buy it new only for the 6-year warranty and the choice of color. A used one at around AED 540,000 lets someone else take the first 18%, so I would look there first, check the car came through Al-Futtaim, and ask Al-Futtaim to confirm the warranty moves to me. If I mostly drove in the city, I would buy a used Model X for less and keep Supercharger access. The catch with the U8: a new brand with no resale record, service listed only in Abu Dhabi, and no Superchargers.
