As of October 2026. Reservation terms from Tesla UAE’s Roadster reservation page, read 17 Oct 2026; trims and specs as Tesla presented them on 15 Oct 2026. Track prices from Yas Marina Circuit and Dubai Autodrome, read 17 Oct 2026. PlaidCars is not affiliated with Tesla.
You can reserve the new Tesla Roadster in the UAE now. Tesla UAE asks AED 20,000 today, which it calls fully refundable, and AED 190,000 within 10 days, or the reservation is cancelled. That is AED 210,000 up front for a car with no price and no UAE delivery date. Tesla showed the final design on 15 Oct 2026 and Elon Musk said production starts in 2028. Nobody in the UAE can rent one, and UAE roads cap it at 140 km/h like any car, so the reason to own one here is the track: Yas Marina Circuit runs own-car track days from AED 590.

Reserving in the UAE costs AED 210,000 up front, about 14% more than in the US
| Trim | UAE reservation | US reservation | How you get one |
|---|---|---|---|
| Performance | AED 20,000 today + AED 190,000 within 10 days | $5,000 today + $45,000 within 10 days ($50,000) | Open reservation |
| Thrust | Limited release; amount not stated | $5,000 today + $245,000 within 10 days ($250,000) | Limited release |
| Rocket | Invite only | Invite only | By Tesla’s invitation |
At the fixed rate of AED 3.6725 to the dollar, the US $50,000 is AED 183,625. The UAE asks AED 210,000, about $57,200, so a UAE buyer pays roughly AED 26,000 more up front than an American does (our math). Tesla UAE’s main Roadster page also shows a “Base Reservation” of AED 183,000, so read the figure on the checkout screen before you pay.
Tesla has given no price for any trim. In 2017 it asked $200,000 for the base car and $250,000 for a Founders Series, but those prices came off its site years ago and the new car is a different design. Tesla’s US reservation terms, dated 15 Oct 2026, say either side can cancel with a full refund until you sign a purchase agreement, and that the Roadster is still under development, so Tesla does not promise when, or whether, it will deliver. We could not see the UAE version of those terms. Tesla UAE calls the first AED 20,000 fully refundable; ask Tesla in writing whether the AED 190,000 is refundable on the same terms before you send it.
Three trims, and only the Performance is meant for public roads
| Trim | Tesla’s label | Seats | What it adds | 0–60 mph, Tesla’s claim |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Performance | Road ready | 2 | Active aero and fans that suck the car onto the road | Under 1.6 s |
| Thrust | Race ready | 2 | Cold-gas thrusters at the rear, fed by carbon-fiber gas tanks | Under 1 s |
| Rocket | Air ready | 1 | 10 cold-gas thrusters around the car that lift and spin it | Under 0.59 s |
Tesla quotes more than 300 miles of range, about 480 km, and a top speed above 230 mph, about 370 km/h. None of these numbers has been tested by anyone outside Tesla. Tesla says the Rocket is for off-road use only, so it will not get UAE plates. The Thrust is built for the track; no UAE rule we could find covers a road car that fires gas thrusters.
The 2026 car promises less than the 2017 show car did on paper. Tesla dropped the back seats and halved the range claim.
| Spec | Promised in 2017 | Shown in October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Seats | 4 (2+2) | 2, or 1 in the Rocket |
| Range | 620 miles (about 1,000 km) | Over 300 miles (about 480 km) |
| 0–60 mph | 1.9 s | Under 1.6 s (Performance) |
| Top speed | Over 250 mph | Over 230 mph |
| Price | $200,000 base, $250,000 Founders Series | Not announced |
Production starts in 2028, and UAE cars have no date
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| Nov 2017 | Tesla shows the second Roadster at the Semi event and promises cars in 2020 |
| 2020 to 2024 | Musk pushes the car back four times |
| 2025 to 2026 | The reveal slips from late 2025 to 1 April 2026, then to 1 October, then to 15 October |
| 15 Oct 2026 | Tesla shows the final design near Waco, Texas, and reopens reservations; Musk says production starts in 2028 |
Tesla has said nothing about when UAE cars ship. The Cybertruck is the closest guide: Tesla started US deliveries in November 2023, opened UAE orders in September 2025 and handed over the first UAE trucks in January 2026. If the Roadster follows that path, UAE cars arrive about two years after the first American ones. That is our read of one example, and Musk has missed every Roadster date so far.
The UAE has been early with Teslas before. In 2008 Fares Al Mazroui brought one of the first Roadsters into the country. Customs had no Tesla entry, so they registered it as a Lotus, and Dubai’s RTA added the Tesla brand to its system a week later (Gulf News).
On UAE roads the limit is 140 km/h, and 80 km/h over costs AED 3,000 and the car for 60 days
The highest posted limit in the UAE is 140 km/h, on Abu Dhabi’s E11 and part of the Abu Dhabi to Al Ain road, and Abu Dhabi enforces the posted figure with no buffer. Driving more than 80 km/h over the limit brings a AED 3,000 fine, 23 black points and 60 days with the car impounded. Tesla’s claimed 370 km/h is more than two and a half times the fastest legal road speed here, so the numbers that sell this car only mean something on a circuit.
The UAE writes rules for new car tech quickly. Dubai has had a self-driving vehicle law since 2023, a federal law followed in September 2026, and Tesla has tested its supervised self-driving software on Abu Dhabi roads since February 2026. None of those rules covers thrusters. Our Dubai Autonomy guide tracks what each rule allows.
Yas Marina and Dubai Autodrome let you use the speed for AED 320 to AED 3,000 a session
| Circuit | Session | Price (AED) | What matters for a Roadster |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi | Yas Car Track Day | 590 | Novice sessions need a road-registered car; UAE residents need a UAE licence |
| Yas Marina Circuit | Premium Car Track Day, 7 hours on the full Grand Prix layout | 3,000 | Needs two Novice sessions at Yas or a competition licence |
| Yas Marina Circuit | Yas Drag Night on the drag strip | 320 | The place to test a sub-2-second launch |
| Yas Marina Circuit | Electric Vehicles themed track day | Ask Yas | Fully electric cars only |
| Dubai Autodrome, Motor City | Car track day, Club to Grand Prix layout | 850 to 1,275 (750 to 1,175 online) | Single-seaters are banned, which rules out the Rocket; first-timers do a Novice Track Evening |
Neither circuit publishes a rule on cold-gas thrusters, so ask before you book a Thrust onto the track. Both run evening sessions, the cooler hours of a UAE summer.
What we would do: reserve only with money you can leave alone until 2029
Our view: reserve if you want a place in the queue and AED 210,000 sitting with Tesla for two years or more costs you nothing you will miss. It earns no interest, it buys no price, and Tesla can cancel. Pay the AED 20,000, get the refund terms for the AED 190,000 in writing from Tesla UAE, and keep the confirmation emails. Skip any dealer or reseller who offers a “UAE Roadster price” or a delivery slot today, because Tesla has published neither.
