The one honest caveat: coverage thins fast west of the city, and the western runs are the single case in the UAE where I would actually plan charging before driving.

The emirate’s public-charging buildout runs through its petrol stations, DC fast units retrofitted onto the forecourts drivers already use, rolled out under ADNOC’s E2GO name. Three properties make the model work better than it sounds. The sites are 24/7, because the stations are, which mall chargers cannot promise. They come with amenities, a thirty-minute charge at a station with food and bathrooms is a break rather than a wait. And payment takes cards, the ADNOC app supports Apple Pay and credit cards, a real difference from Dubai’s app-only DEWA flow. Tesla in Abu Dhabi, and the honest western note

Tesla’s own sites anchor where the city actually gathers. Yas Mall is the flagship and the busiest, V3-class speeds with shaded parking, worth knowing in July. Al Maryah Island covers the downtown business district, and Al Ain has its own Supercharger at Al Tiwayya, which is what makes the garden city a no-planning trip. West of the city is the one stretch where the UAE’s charging density honestly drops. The chargers at Mirfa, Al Dhanna, and Ruwais make the western runs entirely doable, but each is a single point on a long road, so the discipline is simple: leave Abu Dhabi at a high state of charge, know which stop you are using before you need it, and check the pin’s status on the map rather than assuming.
