1,000 km fits inside a 250 km daily cap, which allows 1,750 km over the week. The same 1,000 km in a petrol SUV at 10 liters per 100 km (our assumption) burns 100 liters, AED 428 at October’s Special 95 price of AED 4.28 (Khaleej Times, 30 Sep 2026), so the energy line runs about AED 200 lower on electric. Charging on a rental: ask whose Tesla account pays

The account question. Either the car stays on the provider’s Tesla account and Supercharger sessions bill to them, settled from your deposit at return, or the provider pairs the car to your own Tesla account and sessions bill you directly at AED 1.26 per kWh (Tesla app, 15 Oct 2026). Direct billing lets you see every session in the app. None of the 74 offers states which model it uses, so get the answer in writing before delivery. Free Supercharging, which Tesla announced on 17 March 2026, has ended.

Home and hotel charging. If your villa or building has a socket or wallbox, overnight AC charging means the car starts each morning full. Tesla lists 83 destination chargers in the UAE, 69 of them at hotels; ask yours before you arrive, and confirm the charging cable comes with the car.

Range. Dubai Marina to central Abu Dhabi is about 123 km by road (OSRM route on OpenStreetMap data), so a day trip there and back runs about 250 km, which needs one Supercharger stop at most. Fujairah or Liwa need a plan; the UAE Supercharger map shows all 30 sites.

Summer. Charging speed tapers in extreme heat while the battery manages its temperature, so a July session runs slower than a January one at the same stall.

Yes. The EV adds nothing to the paperwork: you show what the provider asks for any rental car, and the age and license rules are set per offer. The one EV-specific step is agreeing whose Tesla account pays for charging.

Do rental EVs in Dubai come with free charging?

No. You pay AED 1.26 per kWh at Tesla Superchargers (Tesla app, 15 Oct 2026), either through the provider’s account and your deposit or on your own Tesla account. None of the 74 offers we track states that charging is included in the rate.
