30 km and 14 stations on two routes. Route 1 runs from Creek (Green Line) through Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour and Ras Al Khor to International City and on to Academic City. Route 2 runs from Centrepoint (Red Line) through Mirdif and Al Warqaa to International City 1.

It crosses Dubai Creek on a 1.3 km bridge, and its station at Dubai Creek Harbour will be 74 m tall, the tallest metro station in the world. Cost: AED 20.5 billion. Work was 20% done in May 2026.

The Gold Line (Sep 2032)

42 km and 18 stations, all underground, about 40 m deep. It links Al Ghubaiba (Green Line), Business Bay and Jumeirah Golf Estates (Red Line), and serves 15 areas including Mina Rashid, City Walk, Meydan and Mohammed bin Rashid City.

Cost: about AED 34 billion. RTA has not published the route; the contract is due in 2027.

Why the Metro is on this site

The Metro is fully automated, and RTA counts it toward Dubai's goal of 25% driverless trips by 2030. The robotaxis, the Loop and the air taxis all connect to it.
